LODox platform makes cultural heritage data easier to explore online
LODox: A Web-Based Platform for Cultural Heritage Linked Data Discovery
Digital Libraries
Summary
Cultural heritage data often comes from many different places, making it hard to search and use all together. The authors present LODox, a website platform that brings these scattered pieces of information into one easy-to-use system. It shows data as organized cards and visual maps to help people discover and understand cultural information better. They also plan to connect this system with new web standards for data ownership and sharing.
What this means in practice
- •For cultural heritage institutions: Enable unified searching and visual exploration of cultural data spread across multiple sources through a single platform interface.
- •For digital archivists: Integrate heterogeneous archival datasets into a linked data portal that supports intuitive browsing and data linking.

Abstract
Recent advances in Large Language Models have transformed how data can be linked, discovered, and enhanced. LODox, Linked Open Data at Oxford, is an evolving web-based platform that embraces this transformation for cultural heritage Linked Open Data. LODox features a novel interface with intuitive card-based data presentation and visualization in a semantic portal. It represents an evolving approach to explore heterogeneous cultural heritage data across multiple sources through a unified interface. In this paper, we will briefly describe the LODox architecture, its implementation, and future development plan, particularly its alignment and integration with Solid.
